Make your top 10 -ballad list of them here!
Note:
Only one song/band! (Though, if you don't know ballads from 10 different bands, you can use songs of same band often)
And argue your choices! (even something, nothing very long needed...)
[EDIT:]
All kind of ballads can be listed!
(The definition of ballad is not always very clear. Usually like slow / sad / beautiful song, may tell about broken love or sth like that.)
[/EDIT]
(No matter how you list them. I listed like (position. - Band - Ballad (Length))
1. Nightwish - Sleeping Sun (4:03)
This is amazingly beautiful song - The most beautiful ever... No more arguments needed!
2. Stratovarius - Mother Gaia (8:20)
Though Stratovarius has many amazing ballads, I chose this one. Maybe because of the piano melodies and guitar solos in the end of the song... This is very beautiful!
3. Sonata Arctica - Letter To Dana (6:00)
Sonata Arctica has also made so many beautiful ballads... But this is one of the first ones... And this is legend. Very beautiful flute also...
4. Deep Purple - Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming (Single Edit) (4:36)
Legendary Deep Purple has also recorded so many ballads... This is quite new one, and I love this... That's maybe why I chose it
5. Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries On (6:38)
This one is also beuatiful, especially the gospel parts rule!
6. Yngwie Malmsteen - Icarus' Dream Suite, op.4 (8:33)
Instrumental.. Fantastic guitar solos... This ballad is almost legendary, released in 1984... Btw the band was quite known in the USA that time too.
7. Scorpions - Still Loving You (6:27)
One of the most legendary ballads EVER!
Fantastic... Gorgeous!
8. Metallica - Fade To Black (6:52)
Also a legend! The instrumental guitar parts rule!
9. Rainbow - Vielleicht Das Nachste Mal (Maybe Next Time) (3:20)
Short instrumental, very beautiful guitar melodies! This is very peaceful song... ahhh!
10. Dio - As Long As It's Not About Love (6:04)
This is also one very beautiful song!
And Ronnie James Dio is one very good singer!
So I made my list...
What do you others say about the ballads?
