I'm trying to build my own site, i did try some time ago, but had to give up it was taking so much time, but now with more people shopping via the internet its becoming more important to have a site
i hav'nt any problems with adding content to the page, the problem i have is with the navigation bar it just doesnt want to add one, all i need is a simple bar across the top
any help would be very much appreciated

Mr Van
You could do it in the form of a table like my basic site has, then each item in the table gets linked to something else.
My Webpage
This table can be added as a single line through the top of the page rather than the way I have done it lower down.

another way is to do something similar to these forum pages, the friends sites section. right click the page and view source then scroll down a bit and you will see the A HREF parts that point to the friends sites.
Im not saying to copy it, its just a way to get the desired effect. would not want you to enfringe copyright. but existing pages are a good way to see the code needed to create them.
My site above is very basic html, all hand typed not using a wyswyg page creator.

Maybe it only appears when viewing the page as someone from outside would see it, hope that makes sense. In other words when the page loads from the net. You will probably find that its simple to fix, it could just be a fullstop (period) in the wrong place or missing in the code.
Are you using php? if you are avoiding html code.

yes , oh plz, scrap front page, it adds to much junk code, that is not needed, it only has maybe 5 "special" things that only frontpage offers, but it isnt worth the K size when it comes to websites and keeping them 56k people in mind. i use dreamweaver by macromedia when im lazy and dont want to long had it,

if you want just a simple free website Mr Havoc try freewebs.com, it offers a simple site building tool. easy enough that even i could figure it out you can upgrade to pay, i think it was a couple of dollas a month, if you stay as a free member they ad a banner advert to your site.
i didint have much time to look at it, so maybe if you got a bit of time you could have a look and let me know how you got on with it
