Sounds great, the GNX3000, tld. (Y)
Unfortunately I wasn't able to replay the sample video of some unknown reason.

Me, I get so overwhelmed by all the stuff on the market that I just stick to my old Morley (I love it) and plain amp drive.

Do we see a new Jimmy Page here? :D

I had to look up everything but the Les Pauls. 430 Watts should ring a long way and the celestion speakers must be making a great sound.

That POD-thing seem interesting. Do you have a footswitch-board and how much would you sell it for if you should replace it? I have a BOSS multieffect-board but I'm far from satisfied. It's like I lose all the feeling in my play compared to the little single effect boxes from boss, and the sound gets cut off when the signals are getting low (a tone is ringing out). How is the Line6 POD Pro compared to that?

Jimmy Page?? Sometimes that tone almost comes through the fingers, but, it's all rock~n~roll. Maybe I will rock the masses in my next lifetime. Early influences were Zeppelin, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, ZZTop, Molly Hatchet, Lynard Skynard, B.B. King, Neil Young, Yes, Rush, AC/DC followed by Alice in Chains, TooL, Government Mule, and many more. Just finished about an hour play session which took about 30 minutes to warm up & feel it (I usually play my own stuff). Maybe by the end of summer, if I practice enough (and can muster up the courage), I can record a jam session & upload it.

The power amp is rated at 430 at 2 ohms, around half of the for 4 ohms, and half of that for 8 ohms (which is what I use). But it will get pretty freaking loud.

If I decide to let go of the Pod Pro, I'll give ya a holler.

I used the Pod Pro about 5 years ago, but switched to a Line6 HD 150 half-stack, and then to a Marshall half-stack with no effects (other than reverb) for the past year or so. The new rack setup (but old gear) allows for more expression with the wide variety of cab and effects modes. I don't use a pedal but will try to pick up a used one later.

I don't notice a loss of tone at lower voulmes, but the energy felt is obviously greater at high volume.

I love to play AC/DC these days but the singing gives me a problem. Took it down 5 halfsteps on "You shook me all night long" and still couldn't reach the highest pitch. Lynyrd Skynyrd is also a band I like to copy.

I use a Fender Stratocaster (-79 - 80 model. Not their best vintage.) and bought a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue 40 watts valve amp just 3 weeks ago.
That amp has made me a new life. The drive it has suites me so good and 40 valve-watts can sound a long way too. Me and my band have just a small rehearsal studio (30 square meters) and I have a problem not getting too loud especially with effects on.

Could you please exkplain the term "half-stack" to me and the power-amp, is it valve or transistors, tld?

You sing! Awesome! Did I when I was a kid, but only play now, unless singing along with Alice in Chains in the car counts (actually stained my vocal cords about 2 years ago doing that).

You should register for the Mustang & Strat Contest!

You confused me for a moment witht the term "valve", I call it "tube" (same thing). You have two 6L6 output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. Having trouble keeping the volume down?

Half-stack: One head and one cabinet.
Full-stack: One head and two cabinets.

The power amp is basically a power transformer (A/C to D/C). It is solid state, not tube.

Yes I sing but that don't tell anything about my voice. :hehe: It's a mix between Bob dylan, Lou Reed, Nick Cave and Roger Waters. Not the greatest singers in my opinion.

Sorry, but the contest is for US residents only. :cry2:

Clever guy, that John Czajkowski. I think it was a dropped D-tuning there. Using open strings a lot gives the play a much brighter sound. I try to do it as much as I can. Is that something in your style, tld?
Must feel like Charlie in the Chocolatefactory (Roald Dahl) to have a setup like they had there.

Yea that's fun music. I can see why you need some good effects. Do you play it loud? And what do you do with bass and drums. Have anyone to play it or do you put it on after recording?

I'd love to play that kind of music but my band is put together of people with different tastes and therefore it's quite mainstream it's gonna be. Tried to start a new band based on harder stuff 3-4 months ago but it's hard to make it live and I don't know if I have time for two bands. (Must have some time for HP2 as well. :hehe: )

Do I play with a shroud????? Huh?? Oh!!! Do I play loud? Yep, you betcha. The only time Ii don't is when I'm playing the acoustic.

Bass & drums. Right now they're all in my head. I've never used a drum machine, but really need to get one. Maybe next Christmas. I've got a cheap bass to use but can do the bass line with the guitar (I rarely play the bass).

I'm trying to get back to where I was about 3 years ago when I played for an hour or two every day. Never played with a band, although I'd like to someday. Had a lot of offers to sit in, but never had the time to work on a songlist. Spent the past few years mainly doing demos on acoustic for customers (did discover a few pieces that translated to the Les Paul rather nicely :) ).

I envision a piece that starts with the acoustic while the electric slowly builds from the background ( turning on the radio), rips your head off, then fades back out.

I've been averaging an hour a day on guitar these past few weeks and I'm starting to feel an improvement. Posted ImageIt feels like I'm rediscovering myself. :woohoo:

That's almost as fast as I can play. All you need is a good drive. :kof: :P

Good to see that you enjoy playing these days, trilegdog. (Y) The idea you have for the electric guitar building up and then fades seems good. Maybe I shouldn't say it, but it seems a bit like a Zeppelin thing. (That's why it seems good. :D )

I don't know how it is with you, but for me, the interest of practicing goes up and down. Until yesterday, me and my band were rehearsing on a new program, ment to be played in Sweden on midsummernight's eve, and I was looking forward to every rehearsal, with my new amp and all. Then, yesterday, I got the message that this arrangement can't be held because of competition from a nearby event, so that the people in charge are afraid to lose money. :cry2:

My amp is turned off for summer.
