Ok, all of you Cowboys out there..... I just spent 5 hours on Google looking for the solution to this one with no luck. I know Outlaws are smarter than that....
Here's my dilemma.
I want to use a php script to do the following:
Upon hitting "submit' the user is redirected to another page, but in-between, they go thru a php script that fires to their printer, once, so that they get a printout of the http://xxxxxx.jpg only once.
What is the magic command to fire a job to a printer in php?
I've been looking for this for years, then tonite it dawned on me how good the Outlaws are.....
Anyone got a solution?

Trileg, thanks. I look forward to hearing if they've got something.
Leaddy, the txt list doesn't appear to have anything that will print. Can you check the listing for the big ones to see if they have anything about printing?
Thanks for the tip 242, I'll look into that. The only catch is that I would need something to send the page off to another page, and not allow 'back' button to work.

Well, the script thingy seems to work, but I'm running into an issue.
When it sends to the printer, the window pops up for the printer control, enabling multiple prints of the page. The only way this whole thing can work right is if they can't have multiple copies.
If someone has a way to send to the printer directly (like the "print" icon in MSWord), that would be most useful.
Thank you all for your assistance so far,
and for anything y'all come up with.

similar question in forum at sun, might be useful
I haven't read all of this but one poster has the same question. One answer is that it can't be done, and a reasonable explanation why is offered. I'll keep looking.
Update:
Well, mukadamn (he asked the same question as yourself; look at his post on "print dialog" on 15 April), said that he was able to do it. As I'm not that familiar with Javascript code, you'll need to interpret his code set. I looked at it and the "print()" is listed twice.
Hope this helps. .

yeah that is a tough, i know how to make it print , and like you said the diolge box will pop up, but i do remember when i was working in the AS400 if you change the direct out put, to more or less printout LPT1 it by passes the Microsoft print shop and direct outputs it. if i remember correctly, and why don't you want to have numerous printouts? because you do know if they hit the refresh button the code will execute again and again.....ever think of that?

AS400........man, that's been a long time ago! Dealt with IBM 3270 emulation for awhile in the Corps.
I think that a command for LPT1 is a good clue.
